Memphis Area Shelter and Care Planning Workshop

We would like to thank everyone who attended the workshop and hope to work together soon. The West Tennessee Seismic Safety Commission (WTSSC) sponsored a workshop to address mass shelter and care planning for the Greater Memphis Area. The meeting was held at the FedEx Institute of Technology at the University of Memphis on September 25, 2008 from 9:30 – 3:00.
The participants were area emergency managers, NGO’s, researchers and non-profit organizations that play key roles in mass shelter and care planning. The purpose of this meeting is to familiarize key stakeholders with the project and begin the process of identifying potential and existing mass shelter facilities in the region.
